Nominations for the School of Nursing and Midwifery Annual Achievement Awards 2023 are now open.

The School recognises the many exceptional and talented students that are engaged in various activities within and outside the School.
Nominations for the School of Nursing and Midwifery Annual Achievement Awards 2023 are now open.
The COVID-19 pandemic has meant the past year has been exceptionally challenging for healthcare services and staff. Now, more than ever the School of Nursing and Midwifery at University College Cork strives to promote excellence in the student experience that emphasises personal, professional, and academic development for life.
The School recognises the many exceptional and talented students that are engaged in various activities within and outside the School.
The 2023 School of Nursing and Midwifery Student Awards have a number of categories:
- Undergraduate Student of the Year
- Postgraduate Student of the Year
- Student Leader of the Year
- Award for Outstanding Contribution to Student Life
- Award for Recognition in Sport
- Award for Recognition in the Arts and Entertainment
- Patricia J. Power Excellence in Clinical Practice Award
- Keady Clifford Award for Excellence in Children’s Nursing
Other awards:
- Community Engagement/Activist Award (can be a student, registered nurse/midwife, school of nursing and midwifery staff member)
- Promoting Equality & Diversity Award (can be a student, registered nurse/midwife, school of nursing and midwifery staff member)
The School also recognises the importance of facilitating learning in the clinical environment and has two awards in this category:
- Preceptor of the Year (registered nurse/midwife who has been a preceptor)
- Best Clinical and Quality Environment of the Year (facilitating nursing or midwifery undergraduate/postgraduate students).
To apply for an award, the nominator must complete the online application form (link below), indicating in no more than 200 words why the nominee should receive the award. Self-nominations are also welcome. Closing date for receipt of completed nomination forms is Friday 24rd March 2023.
The ceremony is scheduled in person for 4pm the 26th April 2023 in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, room G.05, Brookfield, UCC
