Message from Professor Hegarty to all Nursing and Midwifery Students
Head of the Schoolof Nursing and Midwifery
Dear Student,
Firstly, I hope that you are well during this unprecedented time.
I understand this is a rather unsettling and uncertain time, the School of Nursing and Midwifery, UCC will endeavour to keep you briefed through regular email communications and through CANVAS. These are unprecedented times and we are endeavouring to provide a different service and learning experience whilst keeping to the scheduled components of the programme where possible.
Thus it is important that you develop a routine which involves study and completion of your online assignments as scheduled. Some onsite exams/assessments are being moved online. The programme team will communicate the details of the continuous assessment completion/submission dates to you. All steps are being taken to ensure students will not be adversely affected from an academic perspective during this period.
Clinical placements will continue to be facilitated where possible. The continuation of clinical placements is a position supported by the Office of the Director or Nursing and Midwifery for the HSE, the Office of the Chief Nurse in the Department of Health and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
Whilst UCC and the School of Nursing and Midwifery Building is closed for the time being. The staff of the School remain available to support your learning and to answer any queries you may have.
