HSE Marks International Day of the Nurse 12th May 2020
The Office of the Nursing & Midwifery Services Director (ONMSD)
International day of the Nurse is celebrated around the world on the 12th May each year to mark the contribution that nurses make to the health and wellbeing of patients and to society as a whole.
This year, these celebrations are taking place within the Year of the Nurse and Midwife 2020 as dedicated by the World Health Organisation.
Registered nurses across all divisions of the registrar use their professional knowledge and skills to promote health, prevent illness and provide care across the continuum of health and social care. They care for people of all ages, sick or well and in all settings across the community and in hospitals. The ONMSD are delighted to share this video of nurses who provide an insight into the work they do in their daily professional lives which features Mr. Johnny Goodwin, Lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, UCC.
