Great Celebrations at the Presentation of Parchment Ceremony - 23 January 2020

UCC’s School of Nursing and Midwifery hosted its Annual Presentation of Parchment Ceremony on the 23rd January 2020 in the Devere Hall, Aras na MacLeinn, UCC.
The event was a resounding success. Students from seventeen postgraduate nursing and midwifery programmes received their graduation parchments. This ceremony is an opportunity to acknowledge the huge effort, resilience, determination, and sacrifice made by students and the support of their family and friends on the journey. It is an opportunity to celebrate student’s success in completing their programmes. Professor Helen Whelton (Head of College of Medicine and Health) presented the parchments on behalf of the University. Professor Corina Naughton gave the graduation address and highlighted the importance of healthcare professionals engaging in continuing professional development and its’ ultimate benefit for patient outcomes.
Students and their families were really appreciative of the school hosting this celebratory event. A special thank you to all those involved in organising this event and the students, their family members, UCC staff members and representatives of clinical partners and the NMPDU who took time to attend the ceremony. A particular thank you to Regina Murphy for her leadership in coordinating the organisation of this event.
