Student Experience Committee

The Student Experience Committee is dedicated to enhancing every aspect of student life in the university. Our mission is to ensure that students feel supported, engaged and empowered throughout their academic journey in the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

Updates from SEC
The Student Experience Committee (SEC) of the School of Nursing and Midwifery had a new system in place in the academic year 2024.2025 for listening to matters raised by class representatives and responding to them.

2 | Students worried about how to respond to amber and red weather warnings while on clinical placement | Specific guidance prepared by allocations and posted online. Links to be reshared during periods of poor weather to reorient students. |
3 | Potential delay in communicating assignment marks | Matter was escalated for action to the Teaching and Learning Committee |
4 | Better integration of certain subjects across the 4 year undergrad programme | Matter was escalated to the B.Sc curriculum group and a dedicated SEC student workshop has been arranged for Sep 2025 to incorporate student feedback |
5 | Consider additional academic writing support for international students | Alternative support was provided during AY 2024.2025 and will be evaluated |
6 | Need to minimize class distruption during attendance monitoring | Matter was escalated to the attendance monitoring group for action |
