UCC Green Campus: CUH Science in the Wards

In association with our Inter-varsity Bioblitz and Wildlife Awareness Day, a band of volunteers from the School of BEES headed for an afternoon visit to the Children’s Ward (CUH) in October 2016 with a collection of specimens from the zoology and geology museums to show the kids – including shark jaws, skulls, dinosaur fossils and stuffed animals. The kids loved it!

This has been organised every year for the last number of years by Ed Murphy (Sustainable Environment Officer, CUH) in association with UCC Green Campus. CUH became the first healthcare institution in the world to receive a Green Flag for sustainability initiatives in 2014. We hope to collaborate on many more initiatives in the future. Many thanks to Alice D’Arcy for the group photo.
