IT Services are continuously monitoring and implementing additional controls to secure our systems.  In this article we give an update of the target on Higher Education, information on training and advice on how to work safely online.

Cyber Update 

Higher education remains a target for cyber criminals.  In the past two years there have been disruptive cyber-attacks against University of Galway, Technological University Dublin, National College of Ireland and most recently MTU.  UCC IT Services continuously work with private and public sector partners to implement additional controls and technologies to secure our systems.  All indicators are that the threat from cybercrime is only going to increase the more critical digital systems become.  

Training and Awareness 

IT Security Awareness Training remains an essential component in keeping your data and UCC’s data secure.  You can get information about training and other IT Security resources below;

  • If you think you have been the victim of cyber-crime, Do not panic – Disconnect your computer from the network – Contact IT Services. Find more information and contact information here
