ADEFFI Postgraduate Symposium 2023 | Call for papers

6 Apr 2023

Journée des doctorant·e·s de l'ADEFFI 2023

ADEFFI Postgraduate Symposium 2023 vendredi 1 septembre / Friday 1st September University College Cork & en ligne/online (hybride)

The Association for French and Francophone Studies in Ireland (ADEFFI) invites contributions from postgraduate students in all areas of French and Francophone Studies for a postgraduate symposium to be held at University College Cork, and online, on Friday 1st September 2023. This event provides a supportive scholarly forum for postgraduates to present both work in progress and new research. To ensure that this forum for exchange is as open and diverse as possible, no central theme has been specified.

We also welcome MA submissions for our work-in-progress session and our poster session (though they are not limited only to MA students). The work-in-progress papers will aim either to summarise the current research of the participant or to present an aspect of ongoing research on which the participant would like feedback from their peers, lasting 5-10 minutes each. The aim of the poster session is to use a primarily visual mode of communication to engage with the

audience and spark discussion. Whilst we encourage in-person attendance for the discussion element of the poster, all sessions will be hybrid and therefore virtual poster submissions (size A3 in both cases) are also accepted.

Proposal submission

Proposals, in French or English, should be sent to adeffipostgrad@gmail.com by 14th May 2023. The format varies according to the type of session type:

●  For 20-minute papers: a 300-word abstract

●  For the work in progress session/ the poster session: a brief (100 words maximum) outline of the proposed submission.

For all submissions, students are asked to provide a bio note including their institutional affiliation, and to indicate whether they would be presenting in person or online.
