Sarah Bowskill is a Senior Lecturer in Latin American Studies at Queen's University Belfast. Her research focuses on the social and political functions of cultural production. She is particularly interested in how women and other marginalised groups negotiate the cultural field. She is author of a monograph about the formation of the twentieth-century Mexican literary canon and is co-editor of a volume about the use of multimedia by contemporary Spanish American women authors and artists. She is currently working on two projects one about the politics of literary prizes in Spanish America and a second about fictional representations of femicides and disappearances in 21st century Mexican literature.  

David Conlon works at the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies in Maynooth University. He completed his PhD at NUIG. His research focuses on Contemporary Latin American Literature and Culture, with focus on Crime Narratives and ecocritical approaches to literary and filmic texts. 

Narella Forté is an Argentinian feminist, lawyer and activist. She has been living in Ireland for the past two years, where she fell in love with the Irish landscape and culture. She also had the opportunity to get involved in different Latin activist groups like Que Sea Ley Dublin. 

Yairen Jerez Columbié is a postdoctoral researcher at MaREI, Environmental Research Institute, at UCC. Her work focuses on cultural and media studies and interdisciplinary environmental research. She studied in La Universidad de La Habana and Universitat de Girona and holds a PhD in Arts by University College Cork. 

Clíona Maher is Latin America Strategy Officer and Vice-Chair of the Latin America Regional Working Group for UCC since 2015. She worked in educational and cultural international cooperation for Universidad Veracruzana (UV) and the Veracruz state Ministry of Education in Mexico for over 15 years. Her research interests include social responsibility, community engagement, migration, sustainable development and internationalisation in higher education and how they can play a role in promoting global citizenship and Agenda 2030 on a local, regional and global level.  

Mariano Paz is a Lecturer and subject leader for Spanish at the School of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics, University of Limerick. He has a BA in Sociology from the University of Buenos Aires and a PhD in Screen Studies from the University of Manchester. His research is situated in the field of popular culture and film studies, focused in particular in dystopian and science fiction genres in Argentine cinema.
