UCC World Languages student awarded Dr HH Stewart Literary Prize in Italian

- The award recognises Monika's excellence in Italian as the top first year student in Italian across all NUI universities.
Monika Mroczkowska, UCC BA World Languages student, has been awarded the esteemed Dr HH Stewart Literary Prize in Italian by the National University of Ireland (NUI).
Monika Mroczkowska, who is currently in second year of the specialist language degree, said: “I am incredibly grateful to be able to study World Languages at UCC, improving my language skills and understanding of different cultures and literatures.”
Dr Daragh O’Connell, Head of the Department of Italian, praised Monika’s success: “The Department of Italian is delighted to share the news that Monika Mroczkowska has been awarded the HH Stewart Prize in Italian from the NUI. Well done Monika, we are very proud of you, and we look forward to working with you for the next few years."
The Dr Henry Hutchinson Stewart Literary and Medical Prizes are among the oldest awards to be offered by NUI. This accolade recognises Monika’s dedication to her studies and underscores UCC Department of Italian’s commitment to fostering linguistic excellence and cultural understanding.
