Inni-K to launch new album with University College Cork concert

- Acclaimed singer, multi-instrumentalist and Arts Council/UCC Traditional Artist in Residence Inni-K unveils her new album Still A Day.
- The release marks the beginning of her Irish tour, launching with a special concert at UCC’s Ó Riada Hall on 9 October.
UCC’s Traditional Artist in Residence, Inni-K (Eithne Ní Chatháin), has released her highly anticipated fourth studio album, STILL A DAY. To mark the occasion, she will begin her Irish tour with a special concert on Thursday, 9 October in Ó Riada Hall, UCC, Sunday’s Well.
A singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and songwriter, Inni-K is widely celebrated for her distinctive artistry and powerful live performances. Her music is deeply rooted in sean-nós and traditional Irish music, while also embracing bold, contemporary directions. The Irish Times has praised her as “one of Ireland’s most exciting artists.”
STILL A DAY is a fully original collection of songs and represents Inni-K’s most expansive creative work to date. The album reflects her continued evolution as an artist, weaving together tradition and innovation in striking new ways.
Inni-K is the Arts Council/UCC Traditional Artist in Residence for 2025, a role that underlines her strong connection to Ireland’s living musical traditions and her commitment to developing her practice in a university setting. The residency also allows students to engage meaningfully with Inni-K’s practice as part of their undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
Inni-K said: “I'm thrilled to be starting out the tour in UCC up in Sunday's Well music department where I've had the absolute pleasure and honour of being Traditional Artist in Residence this year. My new album Still A Day was recorded right at the beginning of my residency and I shared some early drafts of songs with students and staff there in Ó Riada Hall earlier in the year. It'll be really special to play the full album now on 9 Oct to celebrate the release with my two fantastic band mates - Matthew Jacobson on drums and percussion and Matthew Berrill on clarinets and sax. Couldn't think of a better first leg of the tour!”
Dr Jack Talty, Lecturer and Programme Director of UCC's new MA in Irish Traditional Music, said: “Inni-K’s residency has made a significant impact throughout our campus community. Her energy and openness in sharing insights into her creative process has offered students invaluable perspectives on how traditional artists negotiate a personal artistic voice within a living tradition. It has been inspiring to see how Eithne’s work at UCC has both informed her own artistic journey and encouraged students to explore their art with the same curiosity and ambition.”
The O Riada Hall concert on Thursday, 9 October will give audiences a first chance to experience STILL A DAY live in Cork, ahead of her nationwide tour.
