Lough Hyne Touch Tank Event
The Lough Hyne Touch Tank event took place on Saturday 15th of August.
Many thanks to everyone who attended the annual Touch Tanks event run by the UCC Lough Hyne Research Group from the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences at University College Cork.
The event, now in its 20th year had around 250 people pass through in the 90 minute event on Saturday 15th August. "It's fantastic to see such interest and enthusiasm in our marine life and some of the issues affecting not only Lough Hyne but the wider marine environment. In addition, it was also great to be able to talk a little about signs of recovery in certain species including the purple urchin Paracentrotus (but still early days!)" said Professor Rob McAllen.
Thanks very much to all the research team that gave up their time on the weekend to organise and run the event. Namely Val Hickey, Isa Cordon-Krumme, Muriel Plaster, Meadhbh Stack, Aditya Dambalkar and Luke Harman.
