For the past three years highly motivated transition year students from around the country have gained exposure to the fields of study in the School of BEES. This programme is about to kick off for the fourth time on Monday, January 26th.

This year, for the first time, the School of BEES is holding two sessions of the week-long experience, due to huge interest in the programme. Each week 36 transition year students will explore the fields of ecology, environmental science, plant biotechnology, geology and zoology through hands-on practicals, specially crafted lectures and workshops.

Programme coordinator Dr Emily Goldstein says “Structured experience programmes, such as this one, are proving incredibly valuable to transition year students looking to find out more about the university experience and the life and earth sciences. We are excited to introduce the transition year students to the lecturers, postgraduates, and even some undergraduates of the School.”
