A recent talk by James Wong, hosted by the School of BEES and COHR was well received.

The talk by botanist, broadcaster and author James Wong was delivered to a full-house at University College Cork on Thursday 23rd of January. The event was also streamed live on the web.

James' talk was very well recieved by those in attendance and watching online. You can view some images from the night and some of the reaction online here.

Speaking with  The Sodshow radio programme and podcast while in Cork, James Wong commented on UCC's MSc Organic Horticulture programme:

"What I think is really exciting about UCC is their background is a very scientific one and they do horticulture as well. It's a great place to get a really unbiased idea of horticulture. You get to see it through scientific eyes!"

"They've got some really cutting edge stuff as well: an MSc in Organic Horticulture which is one of the only, if not the only one, in Europe....looking at organics as a practical option for horticulture and agriculture. It's a really modern, cutting edge way of looking at things and I think it's probably one of the best place in the world to study it and it's right here on your doorstep."

You can listen to the full interview with James Wong and Eoin Lettice (in two parts) below.

The MSc Organic Horticulture is now accepting applications for September 2014. For more details, and to apply, see here.
