Susan Mills
Biography
Susan Mills has a PhD in Microbiology. Her initial research focused on dairy starter cultures – improving them via increased bacteriophage resistance and enhanced industrial properties. Subsequently, she worked with a Dutch starter culture company developing advanced starter cultures for improved fermentation and food safety. Within the APC, Susan is a Research Support Officer in the Microbes-to-Molecules theme, particularly focusing on the development of antimicrobial peptides as antibiotic alternatives.
