SOE Student awarded best poster presentation at UKNC Conference, Glasgow
Congratulations to Olivia Shortall who won the best student poster presentation award at the recent U.K. Nitrides Consortium Annual Winter Conference in Glasgow. The award was for her work on the Spectroscopy of BAlGaN quantum wells, which is a novel material option for the production of high efficiency ultraviolet light emitting diodes (LEDs).
Olivia is a first year PhD Electronic Engineering student undertaking her research in the Tyndall National Institute under the supervision of Prof Peter Parbrook and Dr Stefan Schulz. The work is funded by Science Foundation Ireland through the Frontiers for the Future Programme.
