The Department of Italian, the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures and the College of Arts, Celtics Studies and Social Sciences UCC are pleased to announce a second series of five public lectures on the great Italian poet Dante Alighieri.
All lectures will be in English.
Tues January 24 - Professor Corinna Salvadori Lonergan (Trinity College Dublin) - 'Dante, Beckett and St. Erkenwald in Limbo'
Tues January 31 - Dr John Carey (UCC) - 'Dante's Irish Precursors'
Tues February 7 - Professor Brendan Dooley (UCC) - 'Dante, What a Machiavellian!'
Tues February 14 - Professor Cormac Ă“ CuilleanĂ¡in (Trinity College Dublin) - 'Rivers of Dante (On the Banks of my own Lovely Arno)'
Tues February 21 - Dr Matthew Treherne (University of Leeds/ Leeds Centre for Dante Studies) - 'Dante's Theology in Poetry, Practice and Society'
VENUE: All lectures will take place at 7.30 pm in BOOLE LECTURE THEATRE 1 (except for Tuesday Jan 31 which will take place in Kane 19).
