The Centre for Dante Studies in Ireland (CDSI), the Department of Italian UCC, and CASiLaC are delighted to announce the programme of our annual five public lectures on Dante, which will start on the 20th January 2025. All welcome!
- Monday, 20 January – Professor Stephen Milner (University of Manchester) – ‘Dante and Political Economy in the Industrial Age’
- Monday 27 January – Professor Zygmunt G. Barański (University of Cambridge/Notre Dame) – ‘"La forma universal di questo nodo" (Par. 33, 91): The Structures of Dante’s Otherworld’
Monday February 3 is a Bank Holiday in Ireland
- Monday 10 February – Dr Gaia Tomazzoli (La Sapienza, University of Rome) – ‘Dante goes Viral: Digital Projects from Language to Interpretation’
- Monday 17 February – Professor Kimberly Campanello (University of Leeds) – ‘Descending into Detail: Meanwhile in Dante’s Commedia with the Poet K’
- Monday 24 February – Dr George Rayson (University College Cork) – 'Wasting, Waiting, and Weighting: The Importance of Choosing the Right Words in Dante's Commedia'
All lectures take place at 6pm Irish time.
Venue: UCC Council Room (except for 10 February which will take place in CACSSS seminar room, G. 27).
