School of Pharmacy students visit Gilead Life Sciences

The 2nd year Pharmacy Students visited Gilead Life Sciences, Carrigtwohill, on the 14th and 15th March as part of their PF2008 Pharmaceutical Technology module.

They received an introduction to the background to the plant, the products manufactured and the quality systems within the company. This was followed by an informative tour of the production and packaging facilities.  The Gilead tour guides were very informative and the tour gave the students an invaluable insight into industrial pharmaceutical production. It allowed them to see in practice many of the concepts they had covered in lectures and laboratories, thanks to the support of Gilead Life Sciences.
