UCC’s Sim-Versity Virtual Conference Goes Live Today

Sim-Versity is an international collaboration of health professionals, experts by experience, and student participants with a common interest in diversity and simulation-based education.  The conference is a culmination of a 3 year project funded by Erasmus+ 2017 Key Action Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education Fund through the British Council. The project incorporates academic partners from United Kingdom, Finland, & Slovenia as well as the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University College Cork. This EU project aims to optimize patient safety and patient benefit, by integrating cultural competence into simulation-based education through the rehearsal of skills in a simulated, authentic environment. Arguably, culturally competent health care professionals are better prepared to respond to patients with diverse needs relating to, for example, their gender, ethnicity, disability and age. The conference keynote speakers drawn from across the EU will address issues related to diversity, patient safety and simulation-based education.

The 300 registered delegates will attend the conference virtually on the 24th June 2020. Delegates are dawn from 12 countries representing Europe, USA, Canada, Africa, the UAE, and New Zealand. To find out more about the conference, visit the conference website at https://sim-versity-conference.eu/home  or follow on social media using #simv2020.Presentations are available on the website.
