Hosted by Professor Irene Lynch-Fannon, Head of UCC’s College of Business and Law, the inaugural Parchment Ceremony presented parchments to over 180 students from top feeder schools to UCC from Cork City and County. Professor Lynch-Fannon said she was delighted to acknowledge the students’ academic attainment.
The Vice-President for the Student Experience, Mr Con O’Brien welcomed the students, their parents and teachers to UCC. Guest speakers included Ms Tanya Murphy (former Lady Mayoress) and Mr Seán O’Driscoll, CEO Glen Dimplex who spoke about their experience of life as a UCC student. Also present was Mary O’Sullivan, President of the Business Studies Teachers' Association of Ireland. The aim of this event is to encourage students to continue their study of business to third level.
