The Professor Michael Grimes Student Prize 2016/2017
Congratulations to Julie Callanan who was presented with the Professor Michael Grimes Student Prize.
Julie achieved the overall highest aggregate mark in the BSc (Hons) Microbiology Degree for 2016/2017. Julie has gone on to join the research laboratory of Prof Colin Hill in the School of Microbiology, UCC as a PhD research student. The School of Microbiology together with Dr Helen Grimes O'Cearbhaill (daughter of the late Professor Michael Grimes) established this student prize to honour the memory of Professor Michael Grimes. Julie was presented with her parchment and prize by Dr Helen Grimes O'Cearbhaill at the unveiling ceremony of the Michael Grimes Laboratory plaque.
