School of Microbiology hosts the Microbiology Society - Irish Division Meeting: 1-2 September, CORK

The Irish Division of the Microbiology Society organises 1-2 international conferences each year, providing young researchers with excellent opportunities to meet microbiologists from Ireland and abroad. The September conference is being organised by the Irish Division of the Microbiology Society in conjunction with the Irish Society of Immunology.   

This is the first time that the Microbiology Society and the Irish Society of Immunology are holding a joint conference, and conference organiser Dr David Clarke feels it is appropriate that the conference is being hosted by the UCC School of Microbiology, where there is a strong record of research in both microbiology and immunology. The conference is titled “Exploring the microbe-immune system interface”, and takes place in the Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork on 1-2 September, 2016. 

The conference includes symposia on Host colonization; Infection and Immunity, Immune Regulation and Host-Microbe Interactions. A number of great speakers have been lined up for each symposium and additional speakers will be selected form submitted Abstracts. Abstracts can be from any aspect of Microbiology, and need not be related to the Conference topic. Registration for this meeting is OPEN and Abstracts can be submitted (through the web-site below) until July 22^nd.

Book before Sunday 21 August to take advantage of the early bird rate - funding may also be available for Microbiology Society members.
