Microbiology student invited to meet Brazil's Ambassador to Ireland
Eduardo Leao de Almeida a PhD Student in the School of Microbiology with Prof Alan Dobson, was invited to a meeting with Brazil's Ambassador to Ireland, Mrs Eliana Zugaib during her recent visit to UCC.
Mrs Zugaib was meeting Brazilian researchers currently working at UCC as part of her visit. Eduardo was asked to present a brief overview of his research project “Genomic approaches to exploit the Biotechnological potential of Marine Sponge-Associated Streptomyces spp”. Eduardo holds a Science Without Borders PhD Scholarship from the Brazilian government and is currently entering the final year of his PhD programme.
