Launch of new Module delivered by Johnson & Johnson

The School of Microbiology is delighted to announce the launch of a new industry-led Microbiology module, called Biopharmaceutical and Medical Devices Microbiology (BT4005).

This module is unique in SEFS as it will be entirely delivered by staff from the Johnson & Johnson family of companies in Ireland. The module is designed for fourth year BSc Biotechnology students and is built around 4 pillars: the microbiology of manufacturing and release; microbial compliance; microbiology and the controlled environment; and the industrial microbiology laboratory. The module will also include 2 site tours of Johnson & Johnson facilities in Cork i.e. Janssen Sciences Ireland and DePuy Synthes where the students will have the opportunity to meet with and talk to staff.
