Making a Difference

At UCC, we train 21st Century doctors for 21st Century healthcare, using a world-class curriculum and state of the art teaching facilities. Central to this is early patient contact. Our extensive network of teaching hospitals includes Ireland’s only Level 1 Trauma Centre. Students travel the world on Summer electives and achieve some of the country’s highest scores in international medical licensing exams. As UCC is Ireland’s premier research institution, it is no surprise that research is also top of the agenda for medical students. The UCC Student Experience is unrivalled – a beautiful campus, amazing sports facilities, and a gem of a city – and all within walking distance.

UCC offers two medical programmes - a 5-year ‘Direct Entry’ programme primarily for school-leaver students and a 4- year Graduate programme. Both programmes lead to the same qualification: Bachelor in Medicine, Bachelor in Surgery and Bachelor in the Art of Obstetrics (Hons).

At UCC, we believe in training doctors who demonstrate excellent knowledge, skills, and attitudes, doctors who are passionate, enquiring and enthusiastic, who will take up  positions in institutes and communities all over the world. At UCC, we believe in training doctors who will make a difference.
