25 Jul 2019Transition Year secondary school students from across Ireland attended University College Cork’s School of Medicine on Feb 1st 2019 to attend ‘Prep-for Med.’ This hugely popular programme allows young people to experience both the life and the facilities available to medical students’ in UCC’s School of Medicine.

Atlantic Corridor Medical Student Research Conference 2019
11 Nov 2019The School of Medicine was delighted to host the 6th Atlantic Corridor Medical Student Research Conference on Thursday 7th of November in Brookfield Health Science Complex. This intervarsity undergraduate research showcase provided an opportunity to enjoy presentations on a diverse range of clinical and translational medical research projects completed across two of the ‘Atlantic Corridor’ medical schools – UCC and NUIG. The programme included a stimulating mixture of oral and poster presentations, in addition to a plenary lecture by Dr Liam Fanning, Director, Virology Diagnostic and Research Laboratory, Cork University Hospital.

School of Medicine, Prize-Giving Ceremony 2019
04 Dec 2019The annual School of Medicine Prize-Giving Ceremony took place on Friday 22 November, 2019 in Brookfield Health Sciences Complex.The Dean of the School, Professor Paula O’Leary welcomed the large number of prize-winners, their families and friends to the Ceremony. The Dean also had a warm welcome for the family and friends of deceased family members and past graduates of the University to the Ceremony.
