Welcome
Dear Colleageus,
I am delighted to share with you to the Winter Edition of our IT Services Newsletter. We hope you will find the contents of this edition helpful and interesting.
This edition includes cyber security tips on staying safe when shopping online this Christmas. We have an update from our Digital Advisory Centre, where you can find out more about our Learn Live series and information about getting the most out of Microsoft365. We also include a highlight on our on campus events involving IT Services, including Cyber Awareness Month, Equality Week and more. You can watch a video on how the infrastructure team changed our datacentre servers to reduce energy usage in our sustainability update. Google have made changes to their storage services and we share some important advice and information for staff regarding these changes.
We cover a variety of updates about our team and recognise colleagues who have received Long Service Awards and we celebrate the teams that received awards in the Staff Recognition Awards ceremony. Our staff spotlight features Rosie Coffey, who leads our Enterprise Solutions team.
Finally we share details on the launch of the UCC Services Portal to students and details of its rollout to UCC staff.
We welcome your feedback on what you’d like to see in our newsletters, please contact our newsletter editor, Deirdre Keane, with your suggestions and feedback. I wish you all a happy and peaceful holiday season.
Dr. Gerard Culley, Director of IT Services, UCC.
