Welcome to the eleventh edition of the UN Environment Programme GEMS/Water Capacity Development Centre (CDC) newsletter.

We are very pleased to bring you our latest UNEP GEMS/Water CDC newsletter (covering June 2021-December 2021). This edition includes a welcome to the new Head of the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences; an update on our courses and student progress; outreach and engagement updates including details of a visit to Valencia, Spain, as part of the Erasmus+ Project WATER, to name just a few!

You can read about all of them in the December 2021 Newsletter!

In this edition, we would also very much like to highlight an important GEMS/Water anniversary: it has been almost 50 years since GEMS/Water was established in the early 1970s. To mark this occasion, we are seeking your help to document the history, impact and reach of GEMS/water during this period - if you or your organisation has interacted with GEMS/Water over the last 50 years, we would be very grateful if you could complete this short, anonymous questionnaire by the 31st of January 2022.
