UCC launches the Safe and Sound Project
The Safe and Sound project was launched on the 26th June by Professor Stephen Byrne.
The project will run for one year and is lead by Professor Nuala Finnegan, Dr Caroline West, and Chloe Boland, and is located within the EDI department. Using social media content, posters, digital signage and events, the project aims to address sexual violence and harassment as part of the Ending Sexual Violence Framework.
Attended by staff, students, external services, and perhaps most adorably, Ruth the therapy dog from Paws@UCC along with six puppies, the launch showcased some of the social media content that form part of the positive, inclusive, and informed messaging on consent, sexual violence, and building a culture of respect where the UCC community is safe to reach its potential.
You can keep up to date by following the project on social media at @ucc_safeandsound on Instagram and TikTok, and @uccsafeand sound on X. If you wish to collaborate on this project, please email Dr Caroline West at cwest@ucc.ie.
