Ahead of her honorary conferring, Sinéad Burke sat down with EDI Director, Dr Avril Hutch for an In Conversation about her life and work.

Sinéad Burke is founder and CEO of Tilting the Lens, a strategic accessibility consultancy established in 2020. Their ambition is to drive system change using lived experience to advance beyond compliance. With a majority-Disabled team based across Aberdeen, Belfast, Berlin, Dublin, Madrid, London, and Trim, they craft solutions with disabled people to build an accessible and fairer world.
Sinéad works on global and local projects with clients on four continents across business, media, public sector, the arts, academia, and non-profit sectors, such as The Crown Estate, Chanel, Ford Foundation, Gucci, ITV, Mattel, Microsoft, NASA, Parsons School of Design, Pinterest, and the Victoria & Albert Museum. The work ranges from creating more accessible environments (such as headquarters, retail, production, film sets, hotels and nightclubs, galleries, playgrounds and other public spaces); building confidence in employing Disabled people and advising on required systemic changes within the recruitment journey, workflows, and culture to set Disabled talent up for success.

Sinéad has also hosted the podcast ‘As Me with Sinéad Burke’ for Lemonada Media, and published a best-selling and award-winning book for children, ‘Break the Mould’. www.tiltingthelens.com
