The principles and practice of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) have been central to this University for many years. EDI is identified as one of the key enablers in the UCC Strategic Plan, 2023-2028.

We invite you to participate in the 2026 UCC biennial Values and Culture/EDI survey. To start the survey, please click HERE

Why is this survey important?

Staff feedback from the 2022 and 2024 surveys has informed a range of positive interventions in UCC including:

  • UCC's first EDI Strategic Framework2025 – 2028 was launched and UCC was awarded the Silver Institutional Athena Swan Award. 
  • Promotion schemes were revised and implemented.
  • Work Life Balance Framework and associated policies were launched.
  • A suite of new family-friendly policies was developed, including Surrogacy, Fertility Treatment, Foster Care and Pregnancy Loss Leave.
  • Staff Carers, Disability and Neurodivergence Networks were established.

About the survey

The survey was developed and will be administered by UCC’s EDI Unit. For most participants, the survey will take 20 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary. The survey is for everyone employed by the university regardless of role or contract type.

Data Protection

All survey data will be held within the EDI Unit under conditions of confidentiality approved by UCC's Social Research Ethics Committee.  The survey responses are confidential and does not collect any identifiable information. Please do not name yourself or include information from which you or a third party could be identified. Further details are contained in the preamble to the survey and the associated Data Protection Notice.

Timeframe

The survey will remain open until 12 May 2026.

Next steps

Summary survey reports will be shared with all staff later in 2026. 

We encourage you to share your views to help all of us to make improvements and to assess the impact of initiatives and actions aimed at making our university a better place to work and study.
