Conversational Irish

Here in Ionad na Gaeilge Labhartha we have just finished registration for our night courses in Conversational Irish for the people of Cork and beyond. As always, there has been a great response. There are still some spaces on our Irish ab initio course. The course will take place on Wednesday nights from 19.00-21.00 and will commence on Wednesday 2^nd of October. It will run for 20 weeks (10 before Christmas and 10 after). While some aspects of grammar will be covered, the emphasis will be on communication enabling participants to have everyday basic conversations in the Irish language. Year on year, our learners express a high level of satisfaction with the amount of Irish they learn as well as with the social nature of our classes – which make Irish a living language.

The fee is €250.00 for the 20 weeks but we would be happy to reduce the rate to €200 for UCC staff members. The official closing date for registration has passed but if you are interested, please email me before 17.00 on Tuesday 24^th of September.

As part of the course, there will be the opportunity to spend a weekend in Dún Chíomháin, UCC’s Gaeltacht Campus in Ballyferriter, Co. Kerry.
