‘Women in Agriculture’ Conference hosted by UCC Macra na Feirme Society.

 

Thursday, the 21st of March, at 8 p.m.

WGB G.05 (Western Gateway Building)

 

UCC Macra Na Feirme society will host 'Women in Agriculture', a conference discussing various matters from social issues to success stories.

 

The conference will be chaired by James Healy, President of Macra na Feirme. The panel will include:

  • Marie Martin, a 4th year UCC student who established 'Martin's Safety Equipment' after an accident occurred on her family farm in Kerry.
  • Louise Crowley, the current holder of the ‘Queen of the Land’ title and works as a part time farmer. Louise has a vast experience in the agricultural sector and is also a very active member of Macra Na Feirme.
  • Mairead Lavery, chief editor of Irish Country Living in The Farmers Journal. Mairead has pursued a successful career in agricultural journalism and has published many stories of successful women in the agricultural sector.

 

Come along and learn about the success and struggles of these great women in the agricultural sector. Sure to be a very informative and interesting event.

 

Light refreshments served before the conference, from 7:30p.m.
