The healthy brain: from synapse to systems
Understanding the healthy brain is a truly multidisciplinary pursuit where our shared minds investigate how the healthy brain functions from a fundamental to systems level: from molecules, to cells, to neuronal signals, synaptic circuits, plasticity, specialisation, processing and computation.
- This allows us to understand how brain networks develop, sculpt, evolve and compute through the lifespan to control such diverse functions as memory, learning, vision, movement, anxiety, fear, language, and decision making.
- The knowledge output gained directly informs our translational research where discoveries on the brain networks that regulate diverse functions in the healthy brain, translate to accelerate understanding and treatment of brain disorders across the lifespan.
