16 March - Decolonising Methodologies and/as Enfleshed Reason

Violence, Conflict and Gender Cluster and Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies

Sara Motta

Tuesday, 16 March at 10am MS Teams

In this event, we welcome renowned decolonial feminist scholar, Sara Motta, to share her work on co-developing decolonised feminist methodologies with raced and feminised women and communities. This aligns with the research interests of many colleagues in UCC, where co-construction of knowledge, and embodiment of experience and praxis, is to the fore of our work. Motta has done extensive theoretical and praxis-based work across Europe, Latin America and Australia. She has published widely in this area, with her latest book, Liminal Subjects: Weaving (Our) Liberation, being awarded the 2019 best Gender Theory and Feminist Book.
