Dr James Kapalo (Senior Lecturer Study of Religions Department) and Dr Gabriela Nicolescu (Postdoctoral Researchers Hidden Galleries project)  have opened an exhibition featuring materials and items collected and analysed as part of the ERC funded project on Friday 9^th October 2020 in the Boole Library, UCC. The exhibition will run from October 9^th until March 31^st 2021, Boole Library, University College Cork (In line with Govt guidelines only 2 people at a time are allowed into the exhibition space).

Researchers and staff from the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences were recognised in the UCC 2019 University Staff Recognition Awards on the 10 October in the Aula Max. 

Four fully funded postdoctoral fellows have started or are due to start their Marie-Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) funded fellowships with mentors in the College.

The Film Artist in Residence role is jointly funded by UCC and the Arts Council and is offered in association with the Cork Film Festival

 Dr Caroline Williamson Sinalo from University College Cork’s French Department  and Dr Martin Howard, School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures take up HEA Mobility Grants

Drs Shirley Martin (Primary investigator), Deirdre Horgan and Jacqui O’Riordan from the School of Applied Social Studies were recently awarded €433,000 under the Horizon 2020-SC6-Migration call. This new four-year research project, IMMERSE, will develop new socio-educational indicators of integration and map the integration of migrant and refugee children in education in Europe. 

At the UCC 2018 University Staff Recognition Awards researchers from the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences played a prominent and central role in the institution’s annual celebration of achievement.
