Special Screening of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me with Douglas Murray

Award-winning sound editor, designer and UCC graduate Douglas Murray will participate in a special screening of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me at University College Cork.

Audiences are invited to a screening of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, David Lynch’s haunting prequel to the iconic television series, followed by a conversation with acclaimed sound designer Douglas Murray.

Hosted by UCC School of Film, Music and Theatre, this event offers a rare opportunity to delve into the sonic architecture of one of cinema’s most enigmatic works. Murray will discuss his collaborations with Lynch, the creative process of sound design, and the lasting influence of Twin Peaks on contemporary film sound.

In the Q&A, he’ll share insights from his remarkable career, from working in Santa Cruz and Ireland to earning major industry honours. Murray was nominated for an Academy Award in 2023 for his work on The Batman, has won an Emmy for Hemingway & Gellhorn, and received Golden Reel Awards for War for the Planet of the Apes and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He graduated from UCC with a MA in Experimental Sound Practice in 2021.

All are welcome to attend.

The screening will take place on Wednesday, 15 October from 12pm – 3pm in the UCC Film and Screen Media Auditorium, Kane Building, UCC.
