Mapping History: Contemporary Irish & Chinese Literature

UCC recently hosted a collaborative workshop with leading Irish literature scholars from China. The workshop ran for two days and was titled , "Mapping History: Contemporary Irish and Chinese Literature". The authors under consideration included Seamus Heaney, Yan Ge and Anna Burns.

This was a joint initiative between Professor Kiri Paramore, UCC Asian Studies and Confucius Institute and Professor Zeng Guie, Shanghai University Irish Studies Centre. The workshop was partly funded by the Shanghai-Cork Twin Cities grant. Attendees were warmly welcomed by Professor Chris Williams, Head of College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences and Dr Orla Murphy, Head of the School of English & Digital Humanities.
