Four sustainability interventions are being trialed in UCC over 2025 with their pedagogical impact being measured. This is being conducted as part of the Eco2Schools as New European Bauhaus Labs project. One of those interventions is the installation of a biodigester at the North Mall campus.

UCC's Green Campus and Envirosoc held a Christmas workshop where participants created herbal bouquets and wreaths. This seasonal event was followed by a song, poetry and storytelling.
This followed a Christmas jumper upcycling workshop hosted on UCC campus by Cork Clothes Swap. Participants were invited to bring an old jumper , or one picked up at the Swap Spot and the Cork Clothes Swap team guided participants through the use upcycling techniques to add some Christmas flair to jumpers!
Students and researchers from University College Cork (UCC) attended the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s Conference of the Parties (COP) when the 29th edition of the summit took place in Baku, Azerbaijan from 11-22 November 2024. COP 29 brought together nations to assess global efforts to limit the levels climate change against targets set by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol, the Paris Agreement, and other international accords.
