Support services in place to address student concerns

The attached document outlines a response from the Steering Group (Local Joint Working Group) to questions raised by the Department of Health.
As a Head of School of Nursing and Midwifery, we are responsible for ensuring that the academic education and training programmes provide students with the requisite regulated learning experiences, supports and supervision, as set down by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) in the relevant Standards and Requirements.
In consultation with each Director of Nursing and Midwifery, the Head of School is responsible for ensuring that the clinical learning environment is suitable to meet students’ learning needs. In UCC there are robust processes and student support services in place to address any concerns that may arise in relation to the clinical learning environment.
The attached document outlines a response from the Steering Group (Local Joint Working Group) to questions raised by the Department of Health. The Steering Group is a collaborative committee with membership from both the Health Services, UCC and the student body.
