The UCC PLUS+ Programme (formerly Access Programme) seeks to promote access and widen participation in further and higher education. UCC PLUS+ works with second level schools to increase the number of students from under-represented socio-economic groups progressing on to higher education.

Currently, there are a number of schools and colleges of further educations linked to the Programme.  During the academic year 2009-2010, an impressive 67 tutors from the four Colleges within UCC volunteered to work with four Cork city schools linked to the UCC PLUS+ Homework Club.  The aim of the Homework Club is to provide academic support to 2nd level students in a relaxed environment further fostering better relations between UCC and DEIS linked schools.

In total, 125 secondary school students benefitted from seven Homework Club sessions which culminated in an Awards Night for students, their parents/guardians and the tutors themselves. The programme has to date proved to be a resounding success and it envisaged that it will further expand for the next academic year.
