UCC staff have given €500,000 to a hospital in the Singida region of Tanzania over a 24 year period to combat malaria, which is still the second biggest killer in the country.

This year, the Cork /Singida committee decided to bring a little piece of Ireland to the children in the schools of Singida by inviting the children of UCC staff to write about their favourite time of the year.  Children between five and 13 entered the story competition and the winners came in to UCC to receive their Easter eggs that were generously donated by Ryan’s Supervalu, Grange Road, Cork.

If staff members would like to contribute to the Singida projects they should contact David Morgan, Law Department at d.morgan@ucc.ie
