The School will continue to welcome new students each week until it ends on August 27th.
The Summer School is aimed at students who wish to improve grammar, speaking, listening, writing and reading skills in a friendly, professional environment. The programme also provides the opportunity for attendees to meet various students from all over the world including Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, Europe, Mexico, Brazil etc. The social programme of events includes visits to local historical and cultural areas of interest, visits to theatre, cinema and local traditional pubs and attendance at lectures on interesting topics such as Irish music, food and language.
The classes are interactive and aimed at maximising the student’s progress in English. Teachers are highly qualified and have many years experience. Some are also examiners for Cambridge FCE, CAE, CPE and IELTS. Exam preparation courses can be taken full-time or part-time. The Language Centre at UCC is also a centre for teacher training and offers intensive and extensive courses all year.
On arrival, new students are tested to determine their level of English and are then given advice on what they need to do to improve.
