Honorary Fellowship for UCC Academic

At its 45th Fellows' Annual General Meeting in Wellington, the Academy of the Royal Society of New Zealand elected Professor John Gamble of the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences at UCC to Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Society of New Zealand.

The election recognises Professor Gamble’s outstanding contributions to the understanding of subduction zone processes in the SW Pacific, including how New Zealand’s volcanoes work, and his contributions to geological research in Antarctica, especially the deep lithosphere.
