Ethical Framework Launch for End-of-Life Care

What are the ethical issues at end of life? How do we deal with them?

These are among the issues tackled in the Ethical Framework for End-of-Life Care, which will be launched at a seminar in the River Lee Hotel (formerly Jury’s), Western Road, tomorrow Wednesday, October 6th 2010 at 10am.

The Ethical Framework is the outcome of a unique collaboration between University College Cork, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Irish Hospice Foundation.      

The Ethical Framework is possibly unique internationally in that it is based on research both in Ireland and abroad. It has had contributions from ethicists, legal experts, theologians, sociologists and clinicians. It is an educational resource aimed at health professionals, patients, families and the public.
