The Irish-African Partnership for Research Capacity Building

Three representatives from University College Cork, the President, Dr Michael Murphy, Dr Paul Conway, Department of Education and Dr Nick Chisholm, Department of Food Business and Development attended a workshop in Maputo, Mozambique from May 11th-14th.
UCC is part of the Irish Universities project, funded by Irish Aid, to enhance the capacity in research for health and research for education in a consortium of Irish and African universities.  

The programme is being led by Dublin City University and is administered by Universities Ireland.

Pictured at the Opening Ceremony were: Mr Andrew Soper, British High Commissioner to Mozambique; Dr Michael Murphy, President, UCC; Professor Orlando Quilambo, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, Mozambique and Mr Frank Sheridan, Irish Ambassador to Mozambique.
