The Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education constitutes the first year of a three year programme, offered in UCC on a modular, credit accumulation basis.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education constitutes the first year of a three year programme, offered in UCC on a modular, credit accumulation basis.
The programme, recognised by the National University of Ireland (NUI), is designed to support staff who wish to pursue their teaching as part of their research and to obtain qualifications in teaching and learning in higher education.
On May 21st 2009, 43 members of staff were presented with this Certificate. All Colleges were represented in this cohort.
College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences: 7

College of Science, Engineering and Food Science: 6
College of Medicine & Health: 22

The Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education constitutes the second year of the programme and on the same day 24 members of staff were presented with this Diploma with all Colleges again represented in this cohort:
College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences: 6
College of Business and Law : 7
College of Science, Engineering and Food Science: 6
College of Medicine and Health: 5
Speaking at the Presentation of the Awards, Professor Grace Neville, Vice-President for Teaching and Learning at UCC, said: "Such a broad profile of participation in both Certificate and Diploma speaks volumes for the importance of teaching and learning across this university and is indicative of the rich, interdisciplinary context which informs the work of Ionad Bairre."
