Dr Siobhán Mullally has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar award to Columbia Law School, NY, and Temple Law School, Philadelphia, for the academic year 2009-2010. Siobhán is a graduate of the European University Institute, Florence (PhD), the London School of Economics (LLM) and UCC (BCL). She has taught at UCC since 1995 and previously lectured at the University of Hull, UK and at the University of Peshawar, Pakistan.
She has held visiting appointments at Cornell Law School, Harvard Law School (Human Rights Fellow), Sydney Law School and at the National University of India Law School. Siobhán is at present working on an Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS) funded project on Gender, Multiculturalism and Human Rights.
Verona Ní Drisceoil, PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law has been
awarded a Fulbright Student Scholar Award to study at Notre Dame
University, USA. Verona, who is currently completing a doctoral thesis
on Irish language rights at UCC will spend the Spring semester 2010,
researching and teaching at Notre Dame. Verona is the recipient of a
Higher Education Authority (HEA) Scholarship to carry out research in
the area of Law and the Irish language, building on the Law Faculty’s
highly successful Law and Irish degree programme.
