Reunion for UCC Graduates
11.06.2008

Over 132 graduates and friends from the class of 1958 attended their Golden Jubilee Reunion at UCC on Monday, June 9th.

Graduates of all faculties travelled from as far afield as the United States and England as well as from all four corners of Ireland for the day-long celebration.  Organised by UCC's Alumni Office, the day's proceedings commenced with a special Mass in the Honan Chapel celebrated by classmate Fr Owen McKenna, SMA (BA '58).

UCC President, Dr Michael Murphy welcomed the class back to UCC and congratulated all on their achievements. The President then presented a commemorative scroll to each golden jubilee graduate.  Following a gala celebration luncheon in the Aula Maxima, classmates enjoyed an afternoon tour of the UCC Campus, the Crawford Observatory and the Postgraduate Research Library.  During the day classmates had plenty of time to reminisce on their student days at UCC and re-kindle old friendships. For many classmates it was the first time back to UCC in 50 years and all marvelled at how much the UCC campus has grown and developed over the period.
